There’s a term used to describe the chill we’ve endured this week: sweater weather.

It goes with chili and cuddles and all the positives that we associate with the winter cold.

It also speaks to fashion choices.

Winter is the time of oversized coats, leather boots and wool scarves. It’s a time to wrap yourself in soft, warm statement pieces or understated neutrals.

Among the most popular of this year’s trends are ponchos and wraps. You’ve probably seen them everywhere from airports to ballgames to parties to church.

“I think the wraps and ponchos are very versatile and they’re easy. It’s not like a heavy coat,” says Dawn Caison, store manager at Monkee’s.
