Monkee’s Gears Up for National Expansion

Upscale women’s boutique announces plans to aggressively build its brand across the U.S.

Winston-Salem, N.C., September 12, 2018 – Monkee’s Franchising, LLC today announced plans to attract new franchise locations beyond its southeastern U.S. base. 

“Monkee’s is an outstanding concept in women’s fashion and has been a strong brand for more than 20 years,” says Perry Ludy, a senior executive with substantial franchise development and operations experience. “The Monkee’s brand has become synonymous with personalized customer service and cutting-edge designer fashion, and over time, we have perfected operations and support systems to the point where we are ready to expand more aggressively on a national scale,” Ludy added.

Leading the expansion launch is Troy Taylor, Vice President of Franchise Development who brings over 30 years of experience as a franchisor and franchise developer. According to Taylor, Monkee’s franchise locations can best be described as “having exceptional people delivering state-of-the-art customer service while generating high levels of revenue within a profitable footprint.” Taylor went on to say, “This is a perfect model for people who desire to own a high-end women’s boutique where the apparel is always in style. Monkee’s founder, Deedee Shaw opened the original Monkee’s store in Wilmington, North Carolina in 1995. She imagined operating an upscale, girlie, always-in-style boutique where she could give her customers the ultimate shopping experience. It did not take long for the word to spread, and soon Monkee’s of Wilmington was a destination. A second store was opened a short time later in Winston-Salem, North Carolina by Brenda Maready, the co-owner of Monkee’s Franchising, LLC. Each year DeeDee and Brenda meet with people, from full-time mothers to corporate executives, who have one common dream: to own a retail business.  No matter the level of experience in retail or entrepreneurship, they offer guidance based on their 20+ years of success with the support of their dedicated corporate team.

Monkee’s has grown to 27 locations operating in nine states. Ludy and Taylor are teaming up to oversee and manage franchise development with state-of-the-art support systems in place.
